Our Treatment Team

Our treatment team consists of caring professionals who possess a combination of clinical and firsthand experiences which guarantees an understanding, healing, educational and practical plan for recovery.

The clinical staff at Viewpoint Recovery Center is dedicated to offering you the best possible treatment to meet your individualized goals. We work together to provide you with an interdisciplinary team dedicated to your care throughout your stay at Viewpoint. Your treatment team consists of the viewpoint management team, psychiatrist, your primary therapist, the clinical director, and support staff. The treatment team meets on a weekly basis to discuss your progress and recommendations for assignments that are tailored to help you address your treatment goals.

Amy Fackrell, JD, MACP

Chief Executive Officer

After a long legal career and having personal and professional experience with both mental health and substance abuse issues, Amy left the practice of law and founded Viewpoint Dual Recovery Center. With the initial vision realized, Amy’s focus is on guiding the company’s growth and strategy to continue to provide and maintain the highest quality care and standards that Viewpoint has become known for. Amy also continues to use her legal training to help eliminate the stigma associated with mental health disorders and the disease of addiction.

Dr. Terry Vaughan, MD

Medical Director

Dr. Terry Vaughan opened her private practice in 2010. Prior to opening her practice, she served as the Medical Director of West Yavapai Guidance Clinic, and has practiced in Prescott for 19 years. She was one of 41 psychiatrists awarded the 2009 “Exemplary Psychiatrist” award by NAMI (the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill). She works with patients suffering from mood disorders, substance dependence, developmental disabilities and psychotic disorders. She is Board Certified in psychiatry and works with adults and adolescents 13 and up. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Julia Summers, PHD

Primary Therapist

Dr. Julia Summers is a licensed professional counselor in Arizona and Oregon. In addition, Dr. Summers holds a Ph.D. in Family Psychology with over 17 years of experience with family, adolescent, and adults. Dr. Summers trains and conducts Dialectical Behavioral Therapy groups to provide strategies for managing cravings, anxiety, mood disorders, and depression. DBT assists in regulation of emotions and relapse prevention. It is also used to develop strategies to reduce distress, increase mindfulness, and foster emotional regulation skills. Furthermore, Dr. Summers specializations include working with dual diagnosis, addictions, depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. Dr. Summers also has a private practice in Prescott.
Dr. Summers currently lives in Prescott and enjoys family, hiking, and other outdoor activities. At home, Dr. Summers enjoys spending time with her husband, therapy dogs Morgan Mackenzie, and three cats, Maddy, Tommy boy, and Poppy.

Joseph Finger

Medical Coordinator

Joseph Finger is in the 8th year of his career with Viewpoint Dual Recovery Center. Throughout his time here, he has demonstrated a consistent passion for helping those who come through our doors get their lives back on track in overcoming both mental health and substance abuse issues. His professional experience has given him a unique understanding of the dynamics of dual diagnosis treatment, which he draws on daily in assisting our clients. Joseph graduated with his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Grand Canyon University in 2020 and has over 5 years of experience in managing and coordinating the medical and psychiatric care of our clients. 

Vladimer Ford

Chief Operating Officer

Vladimer Ford brings over 9 years of invaluable experience as the Chief Operating Officer with a strong background in both personal and professional setting. Vladimer has a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges that individuals facing mental health and substance abuse issues encounter.  

Throughout Vladimer’s career and 3 years with Viewpoint he has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, a commitment to providing high-quality care, and a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of others. His expertise in overseeing day to day operations and fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment makes him an integral part of our facility’s mission to provide the highest standard of care.  

Andrea Nicholson, LMSW

Primary Therapist

Andrea Nicholson is an experienced Therapist with over 11 years’ experience of working in the hospital & treatment industry. She is skilled in Crisis Intervention, Clinical Internship Supervision, Dual Diagnosis, and Family Interventions. Andrea is also EMDR and ART Therapy trained.  She believes that the opposite of addiction and dual diagnosis is connection and strives to instill the value of interconnectedness in recovery. As a Primary Therapist with Viewpoint, Andrea brings compassion and empathy to clients with addiction and dual diagnosis symptomology. Emphasis is placed on family systems theory as part of the recovery process, understanding that clients will return home to the environment from which they came, with new coping strategies that need to be taught to the families as well.  

Eric Erickson, RRT

Director of Client & Family Services

Eric brings 25 years of healthcare experience, as a Respiratory Therapist early on in his career, and the last nine years in Behavioral Health. He has a strong understanding of mental health, and is known for his empathy, compassion, and warmth. Eric has an innate ability to connect with those struggling with mental health and substance use disorders. He works with families and clients through the treatment process, including case management, facilitating school, job preparation, and resume building. Making sure they are set up with the proper life skills, resources, and appropriate services to keep the momentum going, and set them up for success when they discharge. This is vital to continue sustained health, and happiness. Eric lives in Prescott, and loves spending time with his beautiful wife Becca, daughter Raffaella, and their loyal dog, Belle-Grace.

Richard Guerra

Director of Clinical Outreach & Admissions

“Richie” Guerra is a 2019 graduate of Arizona State University, brings over five years of experience in business development and outreach. With a fresh yet proven perspective, he is passionate about cultivating authentic connections, that lead to long-term relationships. Richie also has a passion about connecting people and ideas, that will bring more awareness, which in turn will benefit more of those in need. He also excels at helping programs grow through meaningful engagement and collaborative partnerships, as we are all in this together.

Junior Pemberton, LCSW

Clinical Director

Junior Pemberton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a strong foundation in addiction counseling, trauma-informed care, and co-occurring mental health treatment. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Addiction, Chemical Dependency, and Substance Abuse, as well as a master’s degree in social work, both from Grand Canyon University.
Junior brings a deep passion for helping others, shaped by both his academic training and lived experience. His approach to therapy is integrative, drawing from a variety of evidence-based modalities including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Motivational Interviewing. He believes perception plays a critical role in change and strives to help clients build insight, self-compassion, and resilience through a lens of mindfulness, spirituality, and philosophical reflection.
Known for his ability to connect authentically with clients, Junior creates a safe, relatable space that supports meaningful therapeutic progress. He is skilled in facilitating a range of groups including process groups, PHP psychoeducation, creative meditation, spirituality, compassionate thinking, and conflict resolution. Junior has a gift for translating complex therapeutic concepts into accessible, engaging tools that clients can understand and apply in their daily lives.
Outside of his clinical work, Junior is dedicated to fostering personal growth—both his own and others’. He is passionate about helping clients not only survive difficult seasons but come through them with deeper self-awareness and renewed purpose.
